Terms & Refund Policy
FlicKey is a small macOS menu-bar utility that fixes wrong-keyboard-layout typing and manages your input language per app and per website.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FlicKey application ("FlicKey", "the app") and your purchase of a FlicKey Supporter License ("License") from this website. By downloading the app or purchasing a License, you agree to these Terms. The app is provided by Tal Alfi (TalTool) ("we", "us").
1. The application
FlicKey is free to download and runs entirely on your Mac, with no account required. It is intended for personal and professional use on devices you own or control. Whether the full feature set stays active without a purchase depends on when you first installed the app, as described in section 2.
2. Pricing, the free trial, and grandfathering
FlicKey is offered under a one-time model with no subscription. What you get for free depends on when you first installed the app. Your first-launch date is recorded locally on your Mac and is not tied to an account.
Installed before 23 July 2026: free forever
If your first launch of FlicKey was before 23 July 2026, every feature stays free for you, forever, with no time limit and no functionality removed. This honors the terms in effect when you installed. The app may still show an occasional, optional support reminder, and it never stops working for you.
Installed on or after 23 July 2026: 30-day free trial
New installations include a 30-day free trial with every feature switched on. When the trial ends, the app stays open (the menu bar, settings, updates, and the unlock screen keep working) and the input-switching features (automatic layout switching, one-tap conversion, and per-app, per-website, and per-conversation memory) pause until you unlock FlicKey with a Supporter License. Purchasing re-enables everything immediately.
FlicKey Supporter License - pay what you want, from $2.99 USD (suggested $9.99), one-time
A single, non-recurring payment; you choose the amount, starting at $2.99. The License:
- unlocks and keeps every feature active for new users once their trial ends;
- delivers a personal license key to your email;
- for grandfathered users, is entirely optional and simply turns off the occasional support reminder;
- marks you as a supporter and funds new features and updates.
Inside the app, a "trial" reference means the 30-day full-feature period for new installations. For grandfathered users, any reminder is optional and the app never stops working.
3. Payments & billing
All purchases are processed by our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC). Lemon Squeezy handles payment, billing, and the collection and remittance of applicable taxes. Your order, receipt, and any tax documents are provided by Lemon Squeezy. The Supporter License is a one-time purchase and is not a subscription; you will not be charged on a recurring basis.
4. Refund policy
Because the License is optional and the app is free to use regardless, we keep refunds simple and generous:
- You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason.
- Email flickey.support@gmail.com from the address used to purchase, with your order number. Refunds are issued through Lemon Squeezy to the original payment method.
- Refunds after 14 days are considered case-by-case at our discretion.
5. License terms
- A Supporter License is granted to you for personal use and may be activated on the Macs you own or control.
- You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publicly share your license key.
- The FlicKey app itself remains free to download and share; these license terms apply to the purchased key only.
6. Privacy
FlicKey stores only small local preferences on your Mac (which layout you prefer per app, website, and chat). It does not collect, transmit, or sell your documents, messages, keystrokes, or browsing history. The app's only outbound connection is a version check to GitHub. Purchase data (name, email, payment details) is handled by Lemon Squeezy under their privacy policy. License validation contacts Lemon Squeezy to confirm a key is valid.
7. Disclaimer of warranty
FlicKey is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or the License. Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that purchase.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at this page, with the "Last updated" date above.
10. Governing law & contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
